Easy Hours Dashboard

The Challenge

Our project management (PM) team was looking for a more efficient process to input employee hours within their existing PM platform. The built in features for estimating and allocating employee working hours were too cumbersome and didn’t give them the right view to help make resourcing decisions. They needed the solution to live within the existing platform in order to not interrupt other aspects of their workflow.

The Solution

I created a new Easy Hours Dashboard that utilized the platform’s API so that changes made within my dashboard would be reflected elsewhere. My solution focused on minimizing the number of steps project managers have to take to modify hours and gave them a high level view of project allocations.

This research lead me to define gaps, needs, and opportunities that the solution needed to address:


Design

The solution allows PMs to review, modify and save employee hours by role, individual and task. It reads and writes data to the API so that it can communicate with other parts of the platform that may change such as timelines and team member assignments.
